ISPs & Telecoms

STM Solutions for ISPs & TelcoISPs of all types require resilient networks that meet the varying needs of business and residential customers, effectively handling high loads at peak hours and not wasting resources when little bandwidth is required.  Reliability is critical for ensuring day-to-day business operations flow smoothly and keeping residential user satisfaction high. With deficiencies in telephone networks and terrestrial infrastructure in developing regions, a cost-effective communication solution is imperative to reaching new customers and providing competitive services.

For large ISPs or telecom carriers, your SatLink® provider can supply and install complete turnkey SatLink® Hubs dedicated to the ISP.  These hubs can be provided with carrier-class high availability and massive scalability for up to 100,000’s of VSATs. SatLink® Hubs and VSATs implements DVB-RCS2, the international VSAT standards, but also have many additional special features and optimisations that go beyond the standards. Ka band or Ku band and hybrid Ka-Ku networks can be built using one or multiple satellites. SatLink® advanced bandwidth management and QoS capabilities allow ISPs to offer a variety of services to businesses and residential users, including standard Internet access at various contention ratios and speeds, high-quality VoIP and Video Conferencing services, and digital video (e.g., MPEG4) distribution and video feed services over IP, among others.

For medium and smaller ISPs – and those larger ISPs where VSAT access is only supplementary to terrestrial connectivity – we recommend partitioned or shared hub services as offered through SatLink®partners. With superior design and versatility, complete services offered with partners eliminate the complexity of deploying and managing your own hub and VSAT network. In a partitioned hub service, satellite bandwidth and certain components of the hub are dedicated to the ISP. In a shared hub service satellite bandwidth is shared dynamically with other customers of the same hub, but bandwidth management policies assure a minimum guaranteed bandwidth.

ISPs and telecom companies around the globe have turned to NSSLGlobal Technologies to provide satellite connectivity in regions where other options are unreliable and slow, or simply unavailable.  The capital costs are relatively low per household or site covered for new satellite networks.  And the ability to deploy VSATs quickly and easily into underserved urban and rural regions make satellite networks an ideal method to expand Internet access and an essential complement in a telecom carrier’s communication solutions portfolio.

Working closely with customers to provide network customization, strong technical support, and personnel training, we offer solutions that lead ISPs & telecom carriers to enhance their market competitiveness, reduce costs, and reach new customers.
