SatLink 2000 VSAT Indoor Unit

The SatLink® 2000 VSAT modem is a member of a family of SatLink® products and systems from NSSLGlobal Technologies enabling scalable, high-availability DVB-RCS & DVB-RCS2 networks including VSATs, Hubs, and Hub components, with value-added options for advanced data, voice, and video networking via satellite.

The SatLink® 2000 is the preferred, most cost-effective type of VSAT network, including public ISPs/private encrypted networks. Yet, it has download IP throughput up to 30 Mbps, advanced QoS, and TCP & HTTP Acceleration up to 10 Mbps per connection and delivers highly efficient spectral efficiency by using the DVB-RCS2 standard supporting BPSK, QPSK, 8PSK, & 16QAM on TDMA carriers. The SatLink® 2000 has all the value-added IP networking features customers expect well as an SCPC mode for added flexibility. The SatLink® 2000 supports various antenna options, with BUCs/LNBs in C, Ku, Ka, X, and EHF bands.

8PSK and 16QAM on return links with 16-state Turbo FECs, header compression, section packing, burst size optimisation, & intelligent bandwidth-on-demand algorithms assure efficient broadband applications.


SCPC Mode Return

An SCPC Mode for the return (inbound to hub) offers simplicity, performance and spectrum efficiency for a separate high-capacity trunk.


ACM on Forward and Return Links

Adaptive Coding and Modulation (ACM) operate on DVB-S2 forward links and RCS2 return links (per burst), enabling maximum two-way link availability. ACM is integrated with SatLink®’s QoS & Traffic Engineering so key customer service levels can be met during fades.


Groups, Traffic Engineering and QoS

Operationally, a SatLink® 2000 will share a capacity pool (with max and min rates) for each service class, shared by a number of SatLink® VSATs in a group. This gives flexibility & control over the service tiers. SatLink® 2000 has advanced QoS features that allow any data and media type to use bandwidth-on-demand while key quality metrics, such as jitter, delay, and throughput, are held within bounds for each VSAT Group and each individual VSAT.


AES-256 Encryption Built-in (option)

Built-in AES-256 secures all user IP traffic at Layer 2 with traffic key per VSAT Group and automatic key updates, fully transparent to TCP acceleration.
